Wanda Nell Woolly

Wanda Nell Woolly, 86, passed away on April 30, 2026, in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was born on January 3, 1940, at home in the Nida, Oklahoma area to Arthur Leon and Nora Mae (Kelly) Johnson. Wanda spent her early years in the Nida community and attended Nida Schools until 1957. She graduated from Cobb High School in 1959, where she was known as a standout basketball player, nicknamed “dead eye” during the 1958–1959 season. Throughout her life, Wanda wore many hats. She was a devoted homemaker, as well as a farmer and rancher, and she also worked as a Mary Kay sales representative. She was a faithful member of Nida Baptist Church. On October 17, 1959, Wanda married Clyde Woolly, and together they had five children. Wanda found great joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved gardening and flowers, decorating—especially at Christmas time—bird watching, and spending time in nature. She was a talented quilter, pianist and had a deep love for music, her family, and her faith in God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nora Mae (Kelly) Johnson, and her brother, Melvin Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Steve Woolly and wife Kerry, Nelson Woolly and wife Karen, Max Woolly, and Brice Woolly and wife Melissa; her daughter, Anita Cariker and husband Curt; her brothers, Arthur LeRay Johnson and wife Edith, and Andy Johnson; her sisters, Genette Wheeler and husband William, Betty Marie DeVault, and Carolyn McCutcheon and husband Charles; and her grandchildren, Cody Woolly and wife Courtney, Kyle Woolly and wife Mirian, Jeremiah Stanfield and wife Heather, Jason Stanfield and wife Ashlee, Jonathan Stanfield and wife Crystal, Shane Woolly and wife Chandi, Peyton Woolly, Justin Woolly, Alex Woolly-Bird and husband Jarred, Aftyn Woolly, Arli Woolly; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel. A family hour will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
