Rozella Bertha Bailey

Services for Rozella ( Rose) Bailey, formerly of Ada, will be at 3 PM Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the chapel at DeArman-Pickard Funeral Home in Stratford, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in McGee cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to come for visitation on Wednesday evening, May 24, at the funeral home from 5-7 PM. Rose passed from this life to her eternal home on Thursday, May 18, 2023. She was 95 years old. She was born March 16, 1928, to John and Bertha Ballard in Asher, OK. Rose lived with her family in the Stratford area in her early years. In 1947 she married Gene Bailey and together they raised two daughters Kay and June. Rose and Gene lived and worked in several cities and states before settling in Pauls Valley. Then in 1969 they made their final move to Ada where they started Logwell Oil Company. Rose was a precious Christian woman who loved reading her Bible, or in her later years, having it read to her. She was selfless and enjoyed taking care of others when she could. She was a hard worker, a wonderful babysitter, and a fun travel buddy. She enjoyed crafts and games and being with family. She and Gene hosted many family reunions. She was a great cook and loved providing meals and desserts for her neighbors and friends. She was a good listener and made people feel welcome and loved. Rose treasured her Ballard and Bailey relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, and her ten siblings: Leslie Ballard, Ulyss Ballard, LeRoy Ballard, Othal Ballard, Johnny Ballard , Jimmy Ballard, Violet McGehee, Bernadean Freeman, Lottie Ross, and Sue Holloway Richardson. She is survived by her daughters- Kay Clonce of Norman, OK and June Hughes of Melissa, TX., her grandchildren: Robin Moore ( husband Dewayne) of Okla City, Chase Hughes (wife Somer) of TrophyClub, Tx, Brian Hughes (wife Natalie) of Ada, and Meredith Easter (fiancé Michael Rogers) of Melissa, TX, and great-grandchildren: Indy Hughes, Claire Wilson, Andrew Hughes, Jonathan Wilson, Greyson Hughes, and Arianna Easter. Sisters-in-law: Barbara Ballard and JoAnn Ballard, and her Bailey sisters-in-law: Avis Cosby, Violet Tabor, Berthaline Bailey, and Darlene Bailey, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Rose was a strong, precious woman - from a generation like no other. She meant the world to us. We will always be grateful for her example, her lessons, and her love.
