Rhonda Jeanne Hendrix

Rhonda Jeanne Hendrix, age 75, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at her home in Milburn, Oklahoma. Born on August 14, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of A.C. and Sylvia Pettigrew. Rhonda was a devoted wife to Dennis Hendrix, whom she married on July 6, 1990, and with whom she shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they built a strong, loving family grounded in faith and hard work. A dedicated healthcare professional, Rhonda had a distinguished career as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. She was the founder and owner of Indian Territory Home Health and Hospice, where she served her community for many years. Rhonda earned her Master of Science from the University of Oklahoma and obtained her Nurse Practitioner certification. She continued her work at Webb Clinic and later established Tishomingo Family Medical Clinic before retiring in 2012, having touched the lives of countless patients with her compassion and expertise. Outside of her professional life, Rhonda was an active member of St. William's Catholic Church and the Alter Society. Her hobbies included gardening, cross-stitching, puzzles, antiquing, decorating, and canning. Above all, Rhonda cherished time spent with her family, always nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She was also an avid fan of Oklahoma University football, often seen cheering on her team with great enthusiasm. Rhonda’s life was defined by her unwavering work ethic, her belief in education, and her deep commitment to her family. She instilled in her children the values of perseverance, self-sufficiency, and the importance of following one’s dreams. Rhonda’s legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire those who knew her. Rhonda is survived by her husband, Dennis Hendrix; her six daughters, Lisa Wigington and Christian Carter of Durant, OK; Tammie Wampler and husband Cody of Norman, OK; Nikki Northcutt and husband Jayson of Tishomingo, OK; Helen Hendrix of McAlester, OK; Ashley Austin of Durant, OK; Heather Hendrix of Milburn, OK. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Pettigrew and wife Staci of Atoka, OK; and her sisters, Carol Fleming and husband Brian, DeeAnn Gregory and husband David, both of Atoka, OK. Rhonda was a proud Mommo to 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Her grandchildren include Karli Moore of Durant, OK, Katlyn and Conner Rhuminer of Norman, OK, Cale Johnson of Norman, OK, Camron Johnson and wife Melana of China Springs, TX, Cassidy Wall and husband Josh of Norman, OK, Stevi Wampler of Norman, OK, Jaysa Wright and husband Landry of Durant, OK, Nathan Northcutt and wife Emma of Broken Arrow, OK, Nickolas Northcutt of Ada, OK, Zoe Schaefer and husband Preston of Oklahoma City, OK, Jagger Brady of Durant, OK, Shiloh Austin of Durant, OK, and Lauren Long of McAlester, OK. Her great-grandchildren include Drake Moore, Owen Wall, Tilly Wall, Noah Wall, Caleb Wall, Saige Johnson, Lyla Wright, and Beau Schaefer. Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Rhonda Hendrix will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Those serving as pallbearers will be Cale Johnson, Camron Johnson, Nathan Northcutt, Nickolas Northcutt and Jagger Brady. Honorary pallbearers Lynn Wood, Ben Brandt, Bruce Turner, Luther Harbert and Tony Webb.
