Jackie Sue Neal

Jackie Sue Emerson was born on March 8th 1932 to Jackson and May Pearl (Durin) Emerson, in Mill Creek, OK. She passed this life on Sunday June 4m 2023 at her home in Sulphur, at the age of 91 years 2 months and 26 days, She married Johnnie Lewis Neal on March 27, 1948 in Ardmore, OK. From this union were born 2 children, Sherri Lynette and Penny Sue. Jackie grew up in Mill Creek, OK area. She graduated from Mill Creek High School in 1950 as the Valdictorian. Jackie’s family lived so far out in the country in rural Johnston County, her mother enrolled her at Carter Seminary in Ardmore, OK through her elementary school years. The family moved closer into town, about a mile from the Mill Creek Schools and Jackie finished her High School years. Jackie had her own sewing business at her home where she made clothing for The public and did alterations, She sewed until she was 89 years of age. She also worked at Freeman Livestock Auction in the Café and as a Clerk at the horse sale and cow sales for about 50 years. She started to work at BancFirst on April 1, 1968 and was a bookkeeper, then teller and at retirement was in customer services/insurance. She retired from BancFirst on April 1, 2009. Jackie was a proud Chickasaw Citizen. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church In Sulphur,OK Jackie was a member of the Rebekka’s Lodge Jackie enjoyed riding horses, sewing, being in her garden and spoiling her grandson’s. Jackie was Sulphur Hereford Heaven Rodeo Queen in 1957. She enjoyed going numerous places with the Roundup Club as the club was 200 plus strong, Jackie also made all of the Roundup Club shirts out of Gold and Kelly Green Satin, She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, best friend and her daughter’s rock; She will be missed. I know in my heart she is in great hands with our Lord Jesus and she will have a blessed journey to heaven. Jackie has always had a wonderful smile on her face, even in her last few days with us. Jackie’s family was her true treasures in life. She was preceded in death by her father-Jackson Emerson, her mother May Pearl Emerson-Bragg, her step-father Jimmy Bragg, her sisters Geneva Hamilton, Edith Hubbard, Oretha Ledford, brother Donald Ray Emerson, an infant daughter Penny Sue Neal, Husband Johnnie Lewis Neal and a infant grandchild, Jackie is survived by Daughter Sherri Graves & husband Michael Grandson Luke Graves & wife Amy Step-grandson Derick Graves & wife Tiffany As well as great grandchildren 6 girls and 4 boys. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE WISITORS TUESDAY FROM 5 TO 7 AT THE DEARMAN FUNERAL HOME Services will be Wednesday June 7, 2023 at 3:00PM Crossway Baptist Church with Rev Randy Wade and Rev Bill Leveridge officiating Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery Arrangements by DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.
