Helen Margaret Gordon

Helen Gordon passed away on March 22, 2026, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was born to Oscar and Alveree (Robinson) Watson, who preceded her in death. Helen was united in marriage to Isiah Gordon on June 28, 1952, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and love. Helen was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She received a high school education and was largely self-taught, carrying a strong work ethic and wisdom throughout her life. As a child, she was baptized at Madill Baptist Church and later became a faithful and active member of Corinth Baptist Church in Ardmore, where she remained until her passing. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—reading her daily newspaper, watching soap operas and Christian movies, and following her favorite teams, especially the Dallas Cowboys, OU football, and baseball. Helen was well known for her cooking, especially her turkey and dressing during the holidays and her delicious peach cobbler. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Helen lived her life loving God and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She embraced each day fully and was always there for her family, offering love, strength, and guidance. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Sr. and Alveree Robinson Watson; her son, Isiah Gordon Jr.; her brothers, Orlando Watson, Arthur Wade Watson, Trenton Watson, Solon Watson, A.J. Watson, William Watson, Oscar Watson Jr., and Alfred Watson; and her sisters, Genevieve Williams, Alveree Adair, Betty Jean Wason, and Nina Mae. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Isiah Gordon; her sons, Stephon Gordon of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Timothy Gordon and wife Tonya of Memphis, Tennessee, Robert Gordon and wife Carla of Dallas, Texas, and Mark Gordon and wife Labecah of Ardmore, Oklahoma; her daughters, Karen Kay Freeman of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Margaret Hamilton of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Sequita Ervin of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Annette Woods and husband Ronald of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Crystal Moore and husband Walter of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Roxanne Romesburg and husband Brian of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and her bonus daughter, Roberta Beaird. She is also survived by her brother, Donnie Watson of Madill, Oklahoma; her sisters, Estina Seals and Patricia Fields; and a host of grandchildren, including those she helped raise—Tanya Freeman Revels, Steven Gordon, Damian Anderson, Robbie Gordon, and Carlos Moore. Helen leaves behind 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Wiley Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
