Bonnie Ruth Freas

Bonnie Ruth Freas, 95, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, passed away on September 1, 2025. She was born on January 10, 1930, in Merkle, Texas, to Joe D. Wash and Lucy (Hipp) Epley. Her family later moved to Douglas, Arizona, where Bonnie attended high school. She went on to earn her Associate of Applied Science degree in Banking from Pima Community College and furthered her education through the American Institute of Banking, completing her Basic Certificate, Standard Certificate, and Applied Banking Major in General Banking. She worked in various banking positions across southern Arizona, where she built a respected career. On May 24, 1947, Bonnie married Eugene Jackson “Jack” Freas in Douglas, Arizona. Together they shared a life filled with love, family, and adventure. After retiring in September of 1986, they moved to Milburn, Oklahoma, where they raised Simbrah cattle on their property. Bonnie was active in numerous organizations, reflecting her deep pride in her heritage. She was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, United Daughters of the Confederacy, First Families of Tennessee, Plantagenet Society, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia, Jamestown Society, National Society of Magna Charta Dames, and Colonial Order of the Crown through her accredited lineal descent from Emperor Charlemagne. Her hobbies included genealogical research, oil painting, and traveling. Above all, Bonnie taught her family that the most important values in life are self-reliance, hard work, and always putting family first. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Freas; her parents, Joe D. Wash and Lucy (Hipp) Epley; her daughter, Gerri Lynn Helber Lemings; her sister, Margaret Jo Jones; brother, Bobby Wash and brother-in-law, Art Jones. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sandra Dawn Yow and husband Thomas Preston Yow; son-in-law, Gaylon Lemings; grandchildren, Altair Ingrid Helber Vazquez and Evyn Jeremy Helber and wife Misty; great-grandchildren, Anais Gabrielle Quintela, Alessandra Katrina Quintela Lemings and husband Dean, Aidyn Vazquez, Dylan Vazquez, and Jaxson Vazquez; one great-great-grandchild, Stetson Lemings; as well as a host of other family and friends. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
