    Vera Beatrice Blankenship

    April 8, 1928 - March 15, 2021

    Vera Beatrice (Hicks) Blankenship was born on April 8, 1928 to Charles Raybon and Mandie Jane Hicks. She left peacefully into the arms of Jesus March 15, 2021. The 7th child, she grew up with her parents and 9 siblings in the Satterwhite Community. March 27, 1948 she married the love of her life, Ralph Donald Blankenship. They made their home most of their lives in Wynnewood. Throughout their lives they showered their 5 children with love and affection and set an example of what true love and marriage looked like. Beatrice was a homemaker. In her younger years, she always had a huge garden and canned all kinds of fruits and vegetables. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to cook, especially for family gatherings and holidays. In her retirement years, she loved to fish, travel with Ralph, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who lovingly called her Granny Bea. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Raybon and Mandie Hicks; daughter, Peggy Perry; grandsons, Rodney Perry and Michael Williams; sisters, Rosie Thompson, Pauline Warren, Lorene Wallace, Ruth Russell, Lottie Wofford, Rusty Tole and Maxine Cobb; brothers, Floyd Hicks and Alfred Hicks. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Blankenship of the home; children, Dianna Cunnius and husband Ed of Wagoner, OK, Ron Blankenship of Wynnewood, Richard Blankenship and wife Mickey of Wynnewood, Jim Blankenship and wife Carla of Wynnewood, Ronnie Perry of Pauls Valley; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A service at DeArman Funeral Chapel to honor and celebrate the life of Vera Blankenship will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 18, 2021 with burial following at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
