Tony Ray Tyson, 63, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Poteau, Oklahoma. The family will be having a double memorial service to honor the life of Tony as well as his brother Harold Leslie Tyson who passed away in 2020. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Temple of God Church in Connerville. Tony Ray Tyson, (Anshine), 63, passed away at his home in Poteau, Oklahoma on May 28, 2022. Tony was born on March 30, 1959 to Isaac and Esterline Jefferson Tyson. He attended Tishomingo High School. Tony went on to attend Carl Albert State College in Poteau earning an Associates Degree as a Physical Therapy Aide in 2006. He received the “Against All Odds”award. On the plaque there is a quote written from Booker T. Washington that reads, “You measure the size of the accomplishment by the obstacles you had to overcome to reach your goals.” Even though there was many ups and downs in Tony’s life. One of his proudest moments was becoming a dad, he loved his son Tom very much. Tony loved playing the guitar, singing southern gospel and Country music. When visiting his home “Francis and Friends” would be in the background. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Esterline Tyson; brothers, Vernon Leroy Tyson, Harold Leslie Tyson, Robert Earl Tyson; sisters, Ramona Eileen James, Pamela Rose Beck, Dorothy Faye Baken and Marella Joyce Tyson. He is survived by his son, Thomas Baken and wife Belinda; grandchildren, Caleb Baken and Alyssa Baken; girlfriend, Karen Luman of Hodgen, OK; brothers, Curtis Randall Tyson of Tishomingo and Don Tyson of Missouri; sisters, Hazel James and husband Ronnie of Morrison, OK, and Peggy Immohotichey and husband Dwight of Fillmore.
