Ruby James Harner

Ruby (James) Harner passed from this life on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at her home in Fillmore, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born on July 21, 1939 to Mary John James and Amos James in the Enterprise community near the Fillmore community in Johnston County Oklahoma. She married her perfect match Jim Harner on March 21, 1983 in the Fillmore community. Ruby and Jim lived a good life together, raising two daughters and a son. The spent most days out on their property tending gardens, raising chickens and spending time with their grandchildren. Ruby's greatest joy in the world were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the most loving Grandma a child could ask for and was cherished deeply by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. Ruby was very proud to be Chickasaw and was one of the last remaining First Language Speakers of Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma. She lived out her life in Fillmore near her beloved family. Ruby enjoyed picking pecans, digging wild onions, yard sales, watching WWE and spending time with her family and good friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harner; parents, Mary and Amos James; siblings, Dorothy Green, Edna Mae Baken, twin brother, Ruben James, Snake James and Sue Pidgue. Those she leaves to cherish her beautiful memories are her children, Donna James, Treva May and Danny Lenex; grandsons, Micheal, Lucas, Pennington, Derek, Domnic and Rafael; granddaughters, Alexis Soto and Sadie Machado; great grandchildren, David and Gabby; brother, Ronnie James and wife Hazel; brother in law, Hotshot Pidgue; sister in laws, Geneva Harner, Linda Overstreet; and lifelong friend Dale Callen along with a host of other family and friends. Funeral services to honor and celebrate Ruby's life will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at the Coleman Cemetery in Coleman, Oklahoma. Family hour will be Friday, December 29, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Arrangements were made under the direction and care of DeArman- Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo.
