Odus "Odie" Ray Newman

Odus Ray Newman “Odie”, 70, of Wapanucka, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Integris Baptist in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Odus was born on November 27, 1951 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma to Lee Roy and Susan (Eaves) Newman. He spent his working years as an equipment operator and foreman for the county. Odus was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of New Beginnings Church in Wapanucka. He loved deer hunting, fishing, watching westerns and eating popcorn; he even earned the title of “poppy popcorn” from one of his grandchildren. His brother, Sammy Newman, was his partner in crime and was his inseparable best friend growing up and his brother Lee. Odus had an unbreakable bond with his daughter Christi and his grandchildren; they were spoiled and so was he. He loved and adored his family and cherished every minute he got to spend with them. Odus was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Susan Newman; siblings, Ethel Matthews, Rosie Matthews, Dorothy West, Robert Tassey, Wayne Newman and Sammy Newman. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his beautiful bride, Lola Newman; daughter, Christi Davidson and husband Kristen; grandchildren, Dylan, Chloe, Christian, Katlin and Kinslee Davidson; siblings, Loetha “Birdie” Haigood, Mary Elkins, Betty Henry, Martha Wallace, and Lee Roy Newman. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Family hour will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00.
