    Nella Ann "Sue" Dickinson

    May 7, 1937 - October 7, 2021

    Nella Ann “Sue” Dickinson, 84, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home, on October 7, 2021. Sue was born in Paoli, Oklahoma. She graduated from Paoli High School in 1955. Sue married the love of her life, Jimmy Dale Dickinson, on February 2, 1957. Jimmy and Sue enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. Sue worked at Schlumberger Well Service, Steve Hall Oil Company, and raised their son Charlie. After their retirements, Jimmy and Sue both worked at Marcum’s Nursery until 2005, when they both officially retired and helped babysit their grandchildren. Sue’s family includes her son Charles David “Charlie” Dickinson and wife Jeanna of Dale, Oklahoma. Sue’s grandchildren include granddaughter Ashley Edmondson and husband Andy, and their children Easton, Tanner, and Scout, of Raton, New Mexico, and grandsons Cole Dickinson of Shawnee, and Cade Dickinson of Dale, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Sue’s sister includes Mary Virginia “Tody” and husband Glen Hunter. Sue passed away five days after her beloved husband Jimmy Dale Dickinson. Sue was also preceded in death by her parents Paul and Cora DeArman, brothers James Lawrence DeArman, Vernon D. DeArman, Fred Garrett DeArman, Billy John DeArman, Laroy Garner DeArman, sisters Pattie Jean King, Jerrilee Edwards, and Mattie Lou DeArman. Sue enjoyed making Ceramics, gardening, babysitting and taking her grandchildren to sports practices and games. Sue and Jimmy both loved all things Thunder, OU, and Dale Pirate Athletics. Jimmy and Sue enjoyed attending OU football bowl games and women’s basketball games, skiing, hiking and fishing in Colorado. When Charlie became a coach at Dale, Sue became a Dale Pirate and loved supporting Dale baseball, softball, and basketball teams. She enjoyed serving and teaching in her church and was a member of Maysville Church of Christ, Kingfisher Church of Christ, Westside Church of Christ in Norman, and later became a member of the Northridge Church of Christ when she moved to Shawnee. The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The interment will be at the Paoli Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Garvin County, Oklahoma.
