    December 10, 1941 - April 6, 2021

    Lanora Mae Lenard Ratliff Lanora Mae Lenard Ratliff was born December 10, 1941 in Mead, Oklahoma to Dorothy (Duncan) Lenard and Virgil Lenard. Lanora passed from this life in the early morning hours on April 6, 2021 at her home on Bullard Chapel Road, Johnston County, Oklahoma. Lanora was mainly raised on Gobbler’s Knob in Milburn, Oklahoma; however, Lanora’s family did live in Fillmore, Oklahoma when she was a young child; where her Father, Virgil, Uncle and Grandfather had a gas station for a short time. Lanora graduated from Milburn High School in 1960. She was married to Granville L. (G.L.) Ratliff on September 28, 1962 at the Church of God in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. They built their home on Bullard Chapel Road in 1970. Although they traveled a great deal; Bullard Chapel Road was always home base. Lanora worked in sewing factories before attending Murray State College, acquiring her Certified Nurses Aid Certification. She worked at Johnston County Memorial Hospital in her first job as a CNA, after working in several hospitals across the USA; Lanora and G.L. returned to Bullard Chapel Rd. Lanora began working as a CNA at Lawnview Nursing Home. While there; she acquired certification as a physical therapist. Lanora cared for many people and people’s loved ones in Johnston County. After leaving Lawnview; Lanora went into private home healthcare. Her last client was a lady named Mary Hunt. She became very close to Mrs. Hunt and never took another client after that. As a grand-daughter of James Watson Duncan, the oldest full-blood Chickasaw alive in 1969; she was very proud of her Chickasaw heritage. When she was able; she enjoyed participating in Chickasaw Senior activities with her friends. It was always Important to her that she had her hair done at the beauty chop once a week. Her longtime hairdresser, Carol Davis, was one of her favorite people. Lanora was loved by so many, because that’s what she gave everybody. She loved to dance and spend time with her family and friends. Rarely was she seen without a smile and everyone will miss her laughter. She loved dressing in beautiful dresses; many of which, she made. She was an excellent seamstress and cook in addition to her professional skills. Preceding Lanora in death were her parents, Dorothy and Virgil Lenard; Mother-In-Law, Annie Easterling; brother, Kenneth (Jack) Lenard; and a nephew of the home, Brian Mikus. Survivors include: Husband, Granville L Ratliff and niece, Brenda Reynolds of the home. Two children, Catherine Walker and husband, Darrell Walker of Bullard Chapel Road; Granville L Ratliff, Jr of Fort Supply, Oklahoma. Siblings, Emma Jean Grundy of Milburn, Edward Lenard of Mill Creek, Edna Faye Lenard of Milburn; Grandchildren: Angela Bouley and husband, John of Rutland, Massachusetts; Mandee George of Tishomingo; Candace and husband, Zach Saucedo of Hawaii; Mesha Romero of Tishomingo; Meaghan Ratliff of Wichita, Kansas; Katelynn Ratliff of Cawker City, Kansas; Samantha Walker & spouse Rocky Hesbrook of Tishomingo; William Walker and wife, Molly of Valient, Oklahoma; David Walker and spouse, Dailyn Dixon of Bullard Chapel Rd. Great-Grandchildren are: Alissa Brodeur of Madill; Breighly Wallker of Hawaii; Hayden Barkley of Tishomingo; Abbigail Bouley of Rutland, MASS; Anna Purifoy of Tishomingo; Dakota Romero of Talequah, Oklahoma; Gabriel Romero of Talequah, Oklahoma; Blaze Hesbrook of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; James Bouley of Rutland, Oklahoma; Christopher Harper of Hawaii; Kooper Peterson of Wichita, Kansas; Chevy Williams of Tishomingo; Genesis (Ryder) Williams of Tishomingo. In addition, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Lanora Mae Ratliff will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 12, 2021 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn. Family hour will be Sunday, April 11 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
