    Kenneth Lowell Jarrell

    August 22, 1924 - January 3, 2021

    Kenneth Lowell Jarrell was born August 22, 1924 in Dill City, Oklahoma to Tom and Maud Jarrell. He passed away January 3, 2021 at Jan Francis Nursing Center in Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years, 4 months and 12 days. He graduated from Burns Flat High School in May of 1943. He married Jewell Rosa Willis on September 7, 1943. While in high school he played baseball, basketball, and drove a school bus and worked at the cotton gin. In 1945 they moved to Hanford, California where he worked on a dairy. His love for baseball didn't end. As they story goes Kenneth had to be retrieved off the baseball field when Jewell was in labor with Jimmie. Returning to Caddo county in 1948 they lived on Willow Creek Ranch raising cattle, alfalfa and wheat, In 1959 Kenneth and Jewell moved to Stratford bought a farm and raised Cattle. Alfalfa, wheat and peanuts. alfalfa, wheat, and peanuts. In the 1990s they established J Bar J Brangus ranch. He was a member of the East Main Church of Christ serving many years as an Elder. He also served 15 years on the Stratford School Board, Garvin County Soil Conservation Board and long time member of the Oklahoma Brangus Breeders assosiation. He is preceded in death by his wife Jewell, parents and daughter Kaye Donna Newell. two grandsons Kenny Newell, Infant son of Jim and Vickie Jarrell, 1 brother and 5 sisters. Survivors are 1 son Jimmie Jarrell & wife Vickie ; 1 daughter Betty Wells & husband Danny: 1 brother Ray Jarrell all of Stratford. Sister In Law Faye Cook of Ada, OK.; Son-In-Law Terry Newell, Shawnee, Ok.; 11 grandchildren Donnita & Terry Ward, Eden Prairie, MN.; Keith & Terri Newell, Orange, TX.; Michelle McGuffin, Stratford; Emily & Craig Hayes Norman, OK. ; Natalie & Stacy Schultz, Stratford; Nicole & Justin Thompson, Plano, TX.; and Christopher & Laura Jarrell, Stillwater, OK.; Katie & Tim Hayes Gainsville, TX.; Jared & Rachel Wells, Hale Center, TX. Jeffrey & Hannah Wells, Lindsay, TX. 31 great-grandchildren; Jill & Barry Kelly, Edmond OK.; Jesse & Rachael Newell, Sweetwater, TX.; Cody & Amanda Ward, Jenks, OK.; Leah Ward Worthington, MI.; Kelly & McKenna Ward, Wichita, KN.; Shawn & Rachel Newell, Farmerville, TX.; Elana & Ryan Replogle , West Chester, Ohio; Rebecca & Blake Bledsoe, Orange TX.; Elizabeth & Matthew Campbell, Bridge City, TX.; Grace Newell Orange, TX.; 20 Great-great grandchildren; Bailey & Caylon Sinnett, Stratford, Brant McGuffin Stratford, OK.; Barrett & Jasmine McGuffin Watford, ND.; Kelsey Cuinn & Calon Hayes Norman, OK.; Kennedy & Kourtney Willingham Stratford, OK.; Lily Thompson Plano, TX.; Jacob, Nathan and John Kenneth Jarrell Stillwater, OK.; Ty, Taryn, Bethany, Kyle and Aylice Wells,; Korbin & Korah Katherine Hayes. Services: will be 10:30 AM Friday January 8, 2021 at the Church Of Christ on Hwy 19 Stratford, Oklahoma. Officiating; D-Teel, Christopher Jarrell, Jared Wells, and Jeffrey Wells. Burial will be in McGee cemetery Stratford. Masks are required.
