Judith Gwendolyn (Sperling) Underwood was born to Lorana Haroldine (Brown) and Lenville Keith Sperling on Nov. 30, 1948 in Salem, Illinois where they lived until she was 5 years old. Their family moved to Monument, NM, and from there to Oklahoma where she graduated from Beaver High School in 1956. Judi went on to Oklahoma Baptist Univ. from 1966 to 1970 graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. While at OBU she met her life long friend Bernadine DeArman. She met the love of her life Fred Underwood in 1969 and they were married April 10, 1970. She worked at Presbyterian Hospital from 1968 to 2006. She's been a resident of Wynnewood since 1985 and belongs to the Wynnewood First Baptist Church where for many years she took care of the clothing give away project. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Freddie Harold Underwood in 2013, three sisters - Patricia Ann Preble, Emma Jean Pasley and husband R.C., and Sue Lynn Field. She is survived by her children - Freddie Harold Underwood and wife Charlene of Tuttle, OK, Gary Charles Underwood and wife Deyaunne of OKC, OK, Pam Thurman and husband Barry of OKC, OK Jason Thomas Underwood of Wynnewood, 6 grandchildren - Quinton Underwood, Lance Underwood, Jessica Anderson, David Hamric, Chelsea Thurman, and Justin Underwood, 10 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation at DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood, OK on Monday Dec. 6, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM. Services will be held at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood on Tuesday December 7, 2021 officiated by Rev. Jerrod Kendall with burial at 2 PM at Troy Cemetery in Troy, OK.
