Jessie Marie Kemp

Jessie Marie Kemp, 60, of Fillmore, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in Sherman, TX. Jessie was born on January 31, 1962 in Crownpoint, New Mexico to Henry and Alice Tsosie. Jessie obtained an Associates Degree from Murray State College and went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Eastern Oklahoma State University. She was an employee at the Choctaw Nation for 8 and a half years and with BIA for 22 years. A proud member of the Navajo Nation as well as a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Durant. Jessie married the love of her life, Carl Kemp, on June 25, 1983 at the Sardis Baptist Church in Milburn, Oklahoma. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. Jessie loved spending time with God; reading her bible and in prayer. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson Damein. Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her husband, Carl Kemp of Fillmore; children, Bryson Kemp of Amarillo, TX, Jennifer Kemp of Durant, OK; grandson, Damein Kemp of Durant; siblings, Eleanor Coonsis of Rio Rancho, NM, Joyce Chavez of White Rock, NM, Lovelace and Tim Wenger of Flagstaff, AZ, Lloyd Tsosie of Aztec, NM, Robert Tsosie, and Hope Darnell of Deming, NM. Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Jessie Marie Kemp will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hollow Springs Cemetery in Fillmore, Oklahoma. Family hour will be from 5:00 – 7:00 on Tuesday, March 8.
