Evelyn Jolene Cottrell

July 22, 1938 - February 8, 2022

Evelyn “Jolene” Cottrell formerly of Stratford, Ok was born to Jack and Ora Kimbro on July 22, 1938 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Jolene, surrounded by her family, entered her heavenly home on February 8, 2022 at the age of 83 years old. She met and married Joe Cottrell on March 29, 1957 in Stratford, Oklahoma. Jolene worked for the Veterans Center, Bayless Drug, JC Penney, and Wal-Mart pharmacy. Jolene loved to travel, camp, do puzzles, read, and most of all spend time with family and friends. Jolene and Joe were longtime members of the Assembly of God Church in Stratford, where she served as church secretary and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Cottrell, three infant siblings, sister Mary and husband John, and sister in law, Ann. She is survived by two brothers, Wes Kimbro of Davis, Oklahoma, Les Kimbro and wife Shirley of Wilson, Oklahoma. Three children, son Steve Cottrell and wife JoAnn of Ardmore, Oklahoma, daughter Lisa Keith and husband Clint of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, daughter Denise Kious and husband Monte of Arlington, Texas, four grandchildren Lacey Twyford, Brandon Cottrell, Teresa Kirkpatrick, and Ashley Gilmore. Ten great grandchildren, Brody, Braxon, and Bryler Twyford, Nathan, Natalie, and Nalayni Cottrell, Emily and Tyler Kirkpatrick, Caden and Avery Gilmore, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brandon Cottrell, Charlie Gilmore, Chris Kirkpatrick, Brody Twyford, Caden Gilmore, and Nathan Cottrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Kirkpatrick and Braxon Twyford Services will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 am at DeArmon Family Funeral Home in Stratford, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Pastor Brandon Cottrell, assisted by Pastor Brandon Twyford. Burial will be at Lewis Cemetery South of Stratford, Oklahoma.
