Bobby "Cotton" Deen Slaughter

February 23, 1943 - March 29, 2022

Bobby Deen “Cotton” Slaughter, a resident of Sulphur, was born February 23, 1943 in Sulphur to Arvil and Leoria (Patrick) Slaughter. He passed away Tuesday March 29, 2022 at Sulphur, Oklahoma. Cotton grew up in the Mill Creek area, graduating from Mill Creek High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart Dena Gay on November 1, 1963. They lived in Newton, Kansas for 34 years before moving to Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas before retiring in Sulphur in 2007. Cotton loved sports, both playing and coaching, and was an avid golfer. He was very social and loved spending time with friends and family. Cotton was always playing jokes and goofing around. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Virginia Rose and Betty Johnson. Survived by his wife: Dena Slaughter of Sulphur, OK Daughters: Gaye Lynne Wray & husband Bobby of Newton, Kansas Deneen Fayette & husband David of Wichita, Kansas 2 Brothers: Jim Slaughter & wife Julie of Oregon Bill Slaughter & wife Mary of Sulphur, OK 2 Sisters: Geraldine Niblett & husband Bob of Newton, Kansas Linda Trice of Tishomingo, OK 5 Grandchildren: Tasha Herrington, Matt Herrington, Jacob Fayette, Daniel Fayette, Rachel Fayette 4 Great Grandchildren: Xavi, Kye, Miracle, Evan. FAMILY VISITATION WILL BE FRIDAY APRIL 1, 2022 FROM 6PM TO 8PM AT DEARMAN FUNERAL HOME IN SULPHUR. Services will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 2:00PM at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mill Creek, Ok. with Rev, Darryl Patrick officiating.
