Betty Marie Gipson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Marie Gipson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Alliance Health in Durant, Oklahoma. Betty was born on November 19, 1936 in Tishomingo to Henry Elbert and Lorene (Harris) Gamble. She married Kenneth “Bud” Gipson on July 23, 1958 and the two spent 41 years together until his passing on November 23, 2000. Betty loved reading, traveling (almost been to every state) and riding around with Aunt Judy in the little MG. Her and Judy loved going to the Western Inn and playing Doctor Mario. She spent most of her life calling Tishomingo home; working in the insurance business but spending the majority of her time at Murray State College being a dorm mom. Betty cared so deeply for her family and loved every minute she got to spend with them. Betty was a wonderful mother, loving grandmother and even better friend to so many who will forever cherish the time spent with her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lorene Gamble; husband, Kenneth “Bud” Gipson; sons, Bobby Bardin and Jimmy Gipson; brother, Henry “Junior” Gamble. Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her daughter, Sharon Marie Gifford; son, Tommy Gene Jones and wife Vicky; five grandchildren, Lisa Jones, Christy Jones, Cynthia Marie Hesbrook, Jeffery Wisinger, and Tina Cabrera; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2022 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at the Tishomingo Cemetery.
