Tony Gale Poe

Tony Gale Poe, 59, of Pontotoc, passed from this life on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma. Tony was born on December 15, 1961 in Talihina, Oklahoma to J.C. and Wanda Faye (Imotichey) Poe. He spent the past 35 years working for the Office of Environmental Health for the Chickasaw Nation and received a prestigious award, the IHS award for his dedicated service. Tony was extremely knowledge about water wells and very passionate about his job; always being there to help just about anyone with a water issue. When it came to sports you could always bet to see Tony at softball or basketball games, whether he was watching his own kids or someone else’s he was always there to support them. If you knew Tony you knew that he was full of life, his joy was contagious, always upbeat, hard headed but goofy, always late and never on time and he loved to preach. If you ever heard him preaching, he was always so passionate about what he was saying. His deep faith held him steady through good times and hard times and he learned to look for God to help him through all of them. His favorite verse was Hebrews 4:12. Tony’s personality was one to strive to be like; always optimistic and laughing and was without a doubt one of the most loving men you would ever meet. Tony is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Wanda Poe; siblings, Joe and Liz Imotichey, Jackie Underwood, Jason Poe. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his wife, Celease Poe; children, Jessica Talmich, Mark Poe, Cotie Poe- Underwood; step daughters, Kayla Dorsey, Teri Lumbert, Mahayla Walker , Sierra Lumbert; grandchildren, Malichi, Moses, Jaimen, Andrea, Finely, Brody, Abigale, Terrayne, Aubrey, Addleigh, Brynlee, Kylie; 1 brother, 3 sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply miss his outgoing spirit. Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Tony Poe will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Temple of God in Connerville. Interment to follow at Seeley Cemetery. A wake will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home. Those serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Joe Thomas, James Poe, Johnathan Lamoni, Jason Lamoni, Ben Underwood, J.D. Underwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Kale Crossley, Trey Crossley, Stacy Imotichey, Brian Imotichey, Connerville Softball Team.
