Tom Houston Horton

Tom Horton, a resident of Wynnewood, OK was born July 21, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Seleta (Foulks) and Connor Horton. He passed away December 10, 2008 at the age of 65 years 4 months and 19 days. He was married to Sue (Dowdy) Horton at Rule, Texas on August 15, 1963. He attended Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor's degree and went on to receive his Master's degree in 1965. Mr. Horton moved to Wynnewood from Post, Texas in 1971 and spent the rest of his life in Wynnewood. When Mr. Horton moved to Wynnewood in 1971 he began his career as the FFA teacher and gave his life to his students until his retirement in 1994. After his retirement he worked for Shannon Sharp in Pauls Valley at ProAg. He was a member of First United Methodist in Wynnewood. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother - Connor Lynn Horton (at the age of 4), and Brother - Larry Joe Horton in 1980. Survived by his Wife - Sue Horton of the home; 3 Sons - Pat Horton of Norman, OK; Matt Horton of Norman, OK; and Jon Horton of Wynnewood, OK; 2 Grandchildren - Connor Horton of Wynnewood, OK; and Emily Bazor of Marietta, OK; Beloved Sister in law - Sallie Bostick of Wynnewood, OK; 2 Nephews - James Bostick of Dallas, TX; and Scott Bostick of Australia; Neice - Susan Bostick of Littleton, CO PALLBEARERS: Jim Stark, Donnie Sharp, Ray Jolly, Steve Jolly, Hal Jolly, Dr. Jim Robberson, Kyle Lackey, Craig Mettry, David Mallow, Mike Perry, Wayne Whitefield, Tommy Leonard, Tommy McKay, Winston Gray, Greg Sharber, Hoyle Sharber, Roger Camp, Dave Lack, Chris Rudiger, Louis Perry, Bonnie Martin, John Earl, Steve Butts, Ray Bazor, Mark DeArman, John Warren, Bruce Buechner, Roger Musgrove, Larry Hays, Randy Seales, Stephen Dixon, Mark Stevenson, Steve Stephens, Dr. Charles Howard, Eugene Garrett, Jim Butts, Mel Rennie, Sr., and George Henry Chandler Services will be held Monday December 15, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Wynnewood with Introductions by Jim Waters assisting Pastors will be Rev. Anna Jantz and Rev. Kay Karen Kennedy, with Rev. Kip Heatley officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home in Wynnewood, OK.
