Terry Ray Covington

Terry Ray Covington passed away on December 26, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1965, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Lynn Wayne Covington and Sharon Lorene (Owens) Harris. From an early age, Terry cherished time spent on the family farm, where he loved helping his Granny and Grandpa and learning the value of hard work and family. He graduated from Silo High School and later enjoyed a long career with AT&T, from which he retired. Terry was deeply involved in the rodeo community, proudly participating in the TGRA, IGRA, and the Great Plains Rodeo Association. Rodeo life brought him immense joy, not only through his many awards and accomplishments, but through the friendships and opportunities it gave him to perform—especially when it meant raising money to help others. Outside the arena, Terry found happiness in gardening, bartending, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He was well known for his incredible cooking, especially his famous banana pudding, which became a favorite among those who knew him. Above all, Terry’s greatest love was for his family, his friends, and his beloved dogs, Merle—affectionately known as “Little Man”—and Oreo. Terry had a heart of gold. He loved making people smile and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Wayne Covington and Sharon Lorene Harris; his grandparents, Ruby and Raymond Covington and Newman and Lucille Owens; and his brother, Billy Wayne Covington. Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Theresa Caudle and husband Robert of Sherman, Texas, and JoAnn Hughes of the home; his niece, Ami Hartsfield; nephews, Chad McGlocklin and Craig Hughes and wife Tori of Mill Creek; great-nieces and great-nephews, Madisin Hartsfield, Mckinzi Hartsfield, Bode Hartsfield, Adalie Hartsfield, Aden Mcglocklin, Hunter Hughes, Julian Renteria, Mya Martinez, Khloe Martinez, and Carlie Hughes; along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home. A family hour will take place on Friday, January 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements were made under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo.
