Tena Jill Houser

Life Legacy Funeral Services for Mrs. Tena J. Houser, 59, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:30 p. m. in the Tishomingo High School Gymnasium with Stuart Bailey officiating, assisted by Chopper McCartney. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-7:30 pm at the funeral home. Tena was born on March 1, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jerone Lee Spicer and Christena Hope (Morrell) Spicer. She grew up in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and graduated from high school there in 1976. Afterward, she attended and graduated from Murray State College in Tishomingo. Tena continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma by graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor's degree in education and then a Master's degree in school administration. She was an educator for 36 years having taught or been an administrator in several schools to include, Tishomingo, Coalgate, in Texas and most recently in Madill. Tena was a champion of children and could get the most from each one she came in contact with. She was active in her church and spent many hours in gymnasiums following he husband in his coaching career. She loved her family dearly and they all meant the world to her. She was preceded in death by her mother.Tena is survived by her husband Boyd, of the home; her father, Jerone Spicer of St. Louis, Oklahoma; two daughters, Chirssea Jackson of Tishomingo and Chanet Huckaby and husband Keith of Altus, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jimmee Mangus and husband Virgil of Wellston, Oklahoma and Jan Harman and husband Tommy of Coleman, Oklahoma; three brothers, Jerone Lee "Buck" Spicer, Jr. and wife Julia of Macomb, Oklahoma, Jeff Spicer and wife Connie of St. Louis and Toby Spicer and wife Brenda of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; grandchildren, Charlee Jackson, Bentlee Thomas, Case Woodall, Carter Huckaby and Kennedy Huckaby; many nieces, nephews and friends. Casket Bearers will be: Ronnie Walker, Larry Wood, Kenny Emerson, Joe Bill Caskey, Jason Midkiff and Brandon Moreland. Honorary Bearers will be: Keith Huckaby, Carter Huckaby, Case Woodall, Keith Quaid, Dennis Hendrix, Danny Pittman, Danny Daniels, Rick Hodges and Danny Keel.
