Odie Dewayne Hinkle

Odie Dewayne Hinkle, was born September 5, 1936 seven miles north of Stratford, Oklahoma at Chism, to Odie and Virginia Louisa (Wood) Hinkle. Our sweet, loving, funny, husband and papaw passed away March 1, 2019 at the age of 82 years 5 months and 26 days, his home north of Stratford surrounded by his family. Dewayne grew up in the Stratford area, and left school after completing the 8th grade so he could help work on the farm. His limited education did not hold him back. His drive, ingenuity and his entrepreneurial spirit helped him to always to find a way to support his family. He married the love of his life Joyce Price on September 5, 1959 at the home of L.D. Stonecipher. They were married almost 60 years. Together they began their life on a chicken farm. Over the years they always managed to earn a living by working the land. They worked peanuts, had a large peach orchard, and fruit stand, ran a dairy farm and finally started 2 very successful house building businesses "Country View Homes" and "Hinkle Homes" His one piece of advice for having a blessed life was to " Always give a full bushel". Preceded by; his parents Odie and Virginia Hinkle; two sons; Randall and Stephen Hinkle; siblings; Lewis & Willard Hinkle, Lela Blankenship, Audie Fisher, and Elaine Cottrell. Survived by; his wife Joyce Carolyn (Price) Hinkle of the home one daughter; Cynthia Ann Williams & husband Richard of Cashion, OK. one son; Barry Wayne Hinkle & wife Dana of Stratford, OK. Grandchildren; Jeremiah Hinkle, Tambra Morgan, Randy & Thomas Hinkle, Jacob, Joshua, and Sarah Williams. Great-grandchildren; Taylor, Timberlyn, Sawyer, Parker, Korbin, Carter & Lacey Hinkle, Ella & Leigha Williams. One brother; Melvin Hinkle & wife Phyllis of Stratford, OK., and one sister Lola Spikes of Ada, OK. Visitation; Wednesday March 6, 2019 at DeArman/Pickard Funeral Home Stratford, Ok. from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Pallbearers; Andy, John, Thomas, Jeremiah & Randy Hinkle, & Jacob Williams. Services; 2:00 PM Thursday March 7, 2019 at Cottrell Mission Church 6 miles south of Stratford on 177 turn west on 1590 2 1/2 miles OK. Officiating; Justin Blankenship, and Eric Blankenship. Burial will be in McGee cemetery Stratford, OK.
