Norma Sue Jones

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 from 9 am until 6 pm for Ms. Norma Sue Jones, 83 of the Wilson Community, near Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Her Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 21st, 2014 at 2:00 p. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel at Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Pastor Jason McEntire will officiate, assisted by Brother Eddie Cook. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka. Our dear Mother, Norma Sue (Mousner) Jones passed away in peace Sunday, February 16th, 2014. She was born to Thurman George and Hassie Jeanette (McCurry) Mousner on March 24th, 1930 south of Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Sue was a hard working, fun loving, cotton picking, peanut shaking, true daughter of her times. Her school years in Wapy and at Murray State College were filled with Baptist Church camps, basketball and many boon companions. She took to railroad trestle crossing on a dare, pig sticking, frog gigging and tagging along on her older brother Billy's dates. She was courted by and married Ed "Poodle" Jones, Jr. in 1949 and started her new journey through Coalgate, Clarita, Gallup, NM, Crownpoint, NM, back to Gallup and years later back to the Wapanucka-Wilson Community of their youth. Sue was a telephone operator, B. I. A. Secretary, High School Counselor/Registrar, wife, mother, seamstress, artist, quilter and pal. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Ed; brother, Billy Thurman Mousner; sister, Teresa Nanette Mousner; and dear grandson, Jason McCurry Jones; brothers-in-law, Tommy Ben Sullivan, Bobbie Glen Jones, Lee Don Jones and Junior Featherston. Sue leaves behind a daughter, Pamela Sue; sons, Casey Patrick and wife Kim of Tishomingo, Bryon McCurry of the home and Jay Paul of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters, Pamela Smith of NC, and Ashlee Jones of Tishomingo; grandsons, Justin Jones and family of NM, Christopher Jones and family of NM; great-granddaughters, Chloe and Marlee of NC, great-grandsons, Jayson, Logan, Isaiah and Tyler of NM will miss knowing their great-grandmother better and longer. Sue is also survived by brother, Stanley George Mousner and wife Jo (Florence) and family of CO, Johnny Mac Mousner and family of CO, Carol Jane Featherston and family of TX and CO. Sisters-in-law, Lee Joyce Mousner and family of TX, Roberta Jones and family of MO and OK, Betty Sullivan and family of the Wilson Community and TX and Ann Mousner and family of CA and ID; nieces, nephews aplenty whom she loved watching grow up and raise families of their own. Her painting pals, quilting companions, and choir and singing partners remember her fondly and often. Love to her neighbors on Julie Drive and all the friends made of many happy years in Gallup,NM. Pallbearers for the service will be: Lee Jonathan Jones, Tommy Michael Sullivan, Richard Sullivan, Scott Sullivan, Robert Harper, Carl Harper and Greg Harper.
