Maynita Warren

Maynita (Richardson) Warren was born on July 15, 1945 to Myrtle (Bolander) & Samuel Richardson in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on July 27, 2025 at the age of 85. She met and soon married her husband, John Madison Warren in a ceremony on June 10, 1962 at the First United Methodist Church in Wynnewood, and the two spent 56 wonderful years together before his passing. Maynita graduated from East Central University with a degree in Early Education; however, her life’s passion was being a wife, a mother, and eventually a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything for them. She was there for all the field trips and was present for every event her girls participated in. She was a proud member of the United Methodist Church in Wynnewood Oklahoma, of which her parents were founding members. She served many roles but her favorite was any position that put her in contact with the youth of the church. She spent many years as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent as well as many summers leading Vacation Bible School. She was active in the Girl Scouts and many Wynnewood girls were blessed to have her as a troop leader. Maynita was an avid reader who served as the Wynnewood Library Board President for many years and was also a proud election board member which allowed her to support the country she loved. She was a football fan who loved supporting the Oklahoma Sooners, she and her husband were football season ticket holders for over 50 years, rarely missing a home game. She enjoyed taking her girls and later grandchildren on many family vacations. loved showing them the ocean, the mountains, Disney World and Disney Land as well as every other tourist site across the country. She will be remembered for many things but those who were lucky enough to know her best will remember her for her big heart and her orneriness. She was preceded in death by her father Samuel Richardson, mother Myrtle Richardson, sister Mildred Burch, and husband John Warren. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Horton (husband Jon), daughter Kristi Freshwater (husband Dave), granddaughters Ashlee Langrehr (husband Brad), Kyla Manso (husband Ryan), Caitlynn Horton, Sara Freshwater, Jacob Freshwater, and great grand children Hannah Langrehr and Lillian Langrehr as well as many extended family members. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 1:00PM at the Wynnewood Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery of Wynnewood. Services are under the direction of the DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood.
