Lucy "Cookie" Allen

Lucy C. “Cookie” Allen, born December 18, 1953, to Lovie Smith and Louis Baker. She passed from this life on December 8, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and deep love for her family and community. Lucy was the proud mother of two daughters, Angela Thompson (Russell Thompson) and Jennifer Smith (Arthur Smith Jr. - J,J,), and a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Jhante Love, Wynter Smith, Arthur Smith III (Tre’) (Stacie Smith), Kia Veales, Kya Thompson, and Allen Thompson. She was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Gael Wave Love. Known to many as “Cookie,” Lucy filled her days with the things that brought her the most happiness—listening to old music, dancing, and sharing laughter with her friends. She had a giving heart and was known for doing anything she could to help those in need. Her compassion and generosity touched countless lives. Cookie would ask about everyone and she was genuinely concerned about their well being. Lucy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, where she found strength, fellowship, and purpose. Her favorite scripture was Song of Solomon 5-6, “Dark am I, yet lovely, daughters of Jerusalem, dark like the tents of Kedar, like the tent curtains of Solomon. Do not stare at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun.” She will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love for family, and the joy she carried into every room. Everyone that spent time with Lucy was familiar with her sayings that were both meaningful and entertaining. Sayings such as “You aint gotta go home but you gotta get the hell up out of here.” Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, Lovie Smith and Louis Baker, two sisters; Joyce Ann Rushing and Diane Washington, three brothers; Robert Smith, Jackie Smith, and Nolan Smith. She is survived by her two daughters, grandchildren, brother (Chris Smith), Sister (Viola Regina Smith), and a host of nieces and nephews. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A service celebrating Cookies life will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Wynnewood. Burial will take place following the service at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
