Linda Mae Kreger

Linda Mae Kreger, 77, passed away after her courageous battle with cancer and surpassing many odds on July 25, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on July 1, 1947, in Great Bend, Kansas to Kenneth O. Browning and Edith Browning Mitchell. Linda was a cherished wife, mother, nana, sister who lived a life full of love, dedication, and service. A proud Mill Creek native, Linda earned her GED after marrying Jody Kreger on December 27, 1963. Her professional journey spanned from real estate, where she worked from 1987 to 2010, to her most beloved role as a teacher at Tishomingo Elementary from 2010 to 2024. Linda was passionate about her students, whom she saw as the light of her life. She excelled in providing nurturing and educational support, leaving a lasting impact on many young lives. An active member of the Assembly of God and the Teachers Association, Linda was known for her warm heart and exceptional culinary skills. Her German Chocolate and Red Velvet cakes were especially adored by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Linda's hobbies included gardening, which allowed her to cultivate a beautiful yard that was a source of pride and joy. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling, and visiting casinos, which brought her immense pleasure. Above all, Linda treasured her time with family, particularly her grandchildren, and embraced her role as a loving Nana with boundless affection. Linda's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was known for being a second mother to many. Her life was marked by her unwavering love, guidance, and support for her family and community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth O. Browning and Edith Browning Mitchell; sister, Cynthia Pitman. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jody Kreger of Tishomingo; son, Teddy Kreger and wife Gail of Tishomingo; daughter, Tammy Lopez and husband Bobby of Plano, Texas; sister, Nancy Hurd and husband Jeff of Mill Creek; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Courtney Truitt and husband Jimmie of Wichita Falls, Texas; Kierra Kreger of Ada; Dylan Kreger of Ravia; Ethan Taylor of Mineral Wells, Texas; Colton Taylor of Ladonia, Texas; Jakob Kreger of Tishomingo; Krishna Taylor of Norman; Cameron Stephenson and wife Ashley of Sanger, Texas; Blake Stephenson of Allen, Texas, Tiffany Stephenson of Allen, Texas; and great-grandchildren Brady Tate and Morgan Mae of Wichita Falls, Texas; Braxtin Karpis, Cedar Karpis, Ridge Olliger, and Crease Olliger of Tishomingo; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Linda's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life. Funeral services to honor and celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Assembly of God in Tishomingo with Pastor Jimmy Ames and Lee Allen Russell to officiate. Interment to follow at the Tishomingo Cemetery. Family hour will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home. Those serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Stephenson, Blake Stephenson, Colton Taylor, Jakob Kreger, Dylan Kreger, Ethan Taylor.
