Life Legacy Funeral Services for Mrs. Latrelle Chapman, 79, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:00 p. m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Don MItchell officiating, assisted by Rev. Keith Jacobs and Dr. Rex Clayton. Interment will follow in the Wells Valley Cemetery at Bromide, Oklahoma. Mrs. Chapman passed away at the Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas on January 9, 2018.LaTrelle Chapman was born on March 25, 1938 in Emet, Oklahoma, the youngest of two children. She attended Emet and Bromide schools. As a young child she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Throughout her life she followed Christ faithfully and was instrumental in leading others to know Jesus. There are people in Heaven today because LaTrelle Chapman lived.After graduating Bromide high school she attended both Murray State College and Oklahoma Baptist University. On August 23, 1958 she married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Chapman. She worked for many years with civil service and then at Murray State College, but what was most important to her was raising her five children. In addition to being an amazing wife and mother, she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely.One of LaTrelle's greatest passions was serving the Lord through her local church. She served faithfully as a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 35 years. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher as well as playing piano/organ for her church from the age of twelve up until the Sunday before her passing. She spent hours with the Lord everyday and left behind years of priceless prayer journals for her children. She never met a person in need that she didn't help. Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time with family, reading, writing, cooking, gardening, and shopping. Above all, spending time with her best friend Jerry was her greatest joy and she longed to be reunited with him in Heaven.LaTrelle passed from this life and went to be with the Lord on January 9th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae and Samuel Benjamin Smith, her nephew, Mikey, as well as her beloved husband, Jerry Chapman.LaTrelle was survived by her five children, Becky and Brian Bennett of Tulsa, Greg and George Ann Chapman of Madill, Liesl and Ronnie Payne of Tishomingo, Kevin Chapman of Tishomingo, and Jason and Jamie Chapman of Murfreesboro, TN. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Katie and Jason Chandler, Ian Barnes, Paige Barnes, Jared and Jessica Chapman, Rachel Chapman, and Abbey Payne. She was very blessed with three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kay White and many beloved nieces and nephews
