LaCretia Yvonne Cook

LaCretia Yvonne Cook, 62, passed away on November 27, 2024, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She was born on February 13, 1962, in Oklahoma City to Eddie Vaughn Hilton and Alice Lucille (Haggy). LaCretia grew up in Butcher Pen and Tishomingo. She married Gary Cook on June 7, 1980, in Durant, Oklahoma. A proud member of the National Guard, LaCretia also dedicated herself to her work as a medical assistant, where her care and compassion touched many lives. She was a faithful member of MAD Ministries and known for her incredible cooking, especially her lasagna, dressing, and peanut butter pie. Her hobbies included spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, and exploring new places. Above all, LaCretia loved her family deeply—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, as did her beloved dog, Rosie. Her home was always a place of refuge, and she was known for her generous heart and willingness to help anyone in need. She is survived by her husband, Gary Cook; daughter, Cortney Fry and husband Benny of Tishomingo; sons, Brent Cook of Eufaula and Kyle Crawley of McAlester; her siblings, Peggy Coker and husband Joe of Florida, Stacey Roberts and husband Harold of Eufaula, Marty Stinnett of Eufaula, Bryan Stinnett of Eufaula, and Danny Hilton and wife Shannon of Shawnee. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Landen Jacobs and wife Alex, Montana Smith, Maci Smith and fiancé Chance Aguirre, Madelyn Cook, Madison Cook, Kaleb Crawley, Alex Crawley, and Dylan Fry; great-grandchildren Ryder Jacobs, Penn Jacobs, Lakelynn Jacobs, Masina Aguirre, and soon-to-arrive Riverlynn; as well as bonus grandchildren Regina, Miia, Grace, Ryker, and Teagan. LaCretia was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Colby Crawley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Pontotoc Cemetery. Family hour will be Monday, December 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Landen Jacobs, Montana Smith, Bryan Stinnett, Marty Stinnett, and Danny Hilton. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews. LaCretia will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
