Joyce Lynn Wesley

Joyce Lynn Wesley passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Raymond and Emily Howard on June 30, 1950, in Talihina, Oklahoma and was an elder of the Chickasaw Nation. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee with a degree in business and went on to have a fulfilling career, teaching the Chickasaw language for the Chickasaw Nation. Joyce was a proud member of Pennington Creek Church in Reagan, Oklahoma. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed beading, crocheting, knitting, and singing gospel music. She was especially known for her delicious fry bread, which everyone loved. However, the greatest joys of Joyce's life were her family, especially her grandchildren. Above all, Joyce was a selfless person who taught others the importance of putting others first. She lived her life by caring for those around her, always putting their needs before her own. Her legacy of kindness, love, and devotion will continue to inspire those who knew her. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, David Cripps; daughters, Cheryl Bornman and husband Troy, Tracey Vasquez and husband Isreal; brother, Luther John and wife Judy; grandchildren, Brian Mincher, Brittany Paulin, Wyatt Hartsfield, Sydnee Hartsfield, Alec Cripps, Paden Cripps, Dustin Bornman, Tyler Bornman and wife Crissy, Jasmine Martin and husband Trevor, Justin Vasquez, and Jordan Vasquez. Her great-grandchildren include Christian, David, Raegan, Jaelyn, Joshua, Bella, Ellieanna, Camilla, Connor, Corbin, Lucy, and Charlotte. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Emily Howard; sister, Ruth Howard; grandson, Bryson Paulin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Chickasaw Community Center in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn. Family hour will be from 6- 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the Chickasaw Community Center. Arrangements were made under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
