Gayla Yvonne Seaney

Gayla Yvonne Seaney, 60, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma was born on May 1st, 1963 to J.E. Sweetin and Helen (Adkins) Byrd in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She went to be with the Lord on January 30th, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family. Gayla grew up in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, where she attended and graduated from Wynnewood Public Schools. Gayla was the assistant manager at Family Dollar in Wynnewood, where she was known for being a dependable and hard-working employee who took the time to speak to and welcome every child who walked through the doors. Gayla had a tender and loving heart, especially when it came to her children. She was a devoted mother who made each child feel special, loved, and cared for. Gayla put the needs of her children, grandchildren, and family before her own needs, often going without so that those she loved were cared for. Her positivity, kindness, and ability to listen left her children knowing that they had the best mom in the world. She was the greatest woman they have ever known and they will miss her tremendously every day. She loved to spend time outdoors with her grandchildren, whom she cherished more than anything in this world. She could often be found playing horseshoes, collecting rocks, or gardening with them. Gayla will be remembered for her quick wit, wonderful personality, and kindness to others. She accepted each person for who they were and saw the best in everyone and every situation. She made everyone feel loved and cared for. Cherishing her memory are her children, Thomas Joe (TJ) Lewis, Dakota Appleton and Steven Lewis; grandchildren, Chance, Chase, Chandler, Madison, and Carly; brothers, Farron Sweetin, Terry (Deanna) Sweetin, Joshua Sweetin; sisters, Jolynn (Marcus) Mikeska, Sherry (Danny) Powell, Tina (Paul Bailey) Filkins and Stacy Sweetin. She was preceded in death by her parents; J.E. Sweetin, Helen Byrd; step-father, Junior Byrd; brother, Robin Sweetin and sisters, LaQuita Sweetin and Cindy Sweetin. A celebration of Gayla’s life will be held on February 22nd at 2:00 pm at the DeArman Funeral Home Chapel in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
