Franklin Dale Dixon

Franklin “Dale” Dixon passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 71 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He was born on November 6, 1954, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Franklin Delano Dixon and Luan Tallant Dixon Adams. Dale grew up in Wynnewood, where he enjoyed riding bikes with friends and being all boy. Dale later graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1973 and after that he went on to attend East Central University and Oklahoma State University. Throughout his life, Dale had a deep love for cars, motorcycles, working in his shop, and flying—he even took flying lessons, embracing the freedom of the skies. He served his community as a dedicated volunteer firefighter in Wynnewood for over two decades. Professionally, he worked as a Factory Manager at the Michelin Tire Factory, where he was known for his strong work ethic and leadership. On May 29, 1975, Dale married the love of his life, Kathy McCord, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Their marriage was the foundation of his life—he always placed his wife and family above all else, and Kathy was truly his best friend. Dale was a devoted father who spent many days supporting his daughter Jennefer as she auditioned for numerous honor bands and schlarship opportunities. He never missed a band concert. Likewise, he always shone with pride when watching his other daughter Katharine cheer at football games. Jennefer lovingly described him as “a man of few words, but full of heart.” He took great pride in providing for his family and ensuring they never wanted for anything. He had a passion for cooking and was well known for his barbecue, grilled steaks, “Pop’s famous spaghetti,” gumbo, chili, and even his creative take on ramen noodles. One of Jennefer’s last conversations with him was learning the secret to his chili—a memory that will be cherished. A true Harley-Davidson enthusiast, Dale especially treasured a memorable motorcycle journey from Washington to Oklahoma in June of 2020. He also held a special place in his heart for his sons-in-law, Rod and Michael, whom he loved dearly and considered a huge part of his family. Dale’s life was defined by quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering dedication to those he cared about. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and friend whose actions spoke louder than words. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Dale is survived by his wife, Kathy Dixon of the home; daughters, Jennefer Dixon and husband Rod Griffin of McKinney, Texas, Katharine Haas and husband Michael Haas of Hong Kong; brother, Timothy Dixon and wife Annemarie of Yakima, Washington; sister-in-law, Cindi Dixon of Kingston, Oklahoma; along with a host of other family and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Dixon and Luan Adams and brother, Dean Dixon. Services for Dale will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Visitation for Franklin will be on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at DeArman Funeral Home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
