Frank William James

Frank William James, a resident of Wynnewood, was born February 19, 1953 in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Wallace James and Rozella (Palmer) James. He passed away November 30, 2010, at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, at the age of 57 years 9 months and 11 days. He was married to Kay Karen Kennedy at Edmond, Oklahoma, on April 23, 1983. He was reared on the family ranch outside Haileyville, OK where he graduated High School. He then went on to Panhandle State University where he graduated with a degree in accounting. After graduation he attended Oklahoma City University where he received his Juris Doctor degree. Upon graduation from law school he opened a private practice in OKC. He moved his practice to Wynnewood in 1990 where he practiced law, farmed, and ranched. He was a founding Member of the Hartshorne Methodist Church, and an associate member of the Wynnewood and Paoli Methodist Churches. His other memberships include Wynnewood Chamber of Commerce, Wynnewood Kiwanis, Wynnewood Academics for Excellence, Wynnewood Ambulance Service Board, Oklahoma Bar Association, and Garvin County Bar Association. Mr. James served as District Chairman for the Washita District of Boy Scouts, and served in leadership roles in his church and community. He was also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. Survived by his Wife - Kay Karen Kennedy of the home; Daughter and Son in law - Mary (James) Sparks and Nathan Sparks of Hartshorne, OK; Son and his Fiance' - Dale Wade James & Charlotte McCarroll of Hartshorne, OK; Grandchildren - Myra Kurz of OKC, OK; Jessica James of North Penn, PA; Marissa James of Hartshorne, OK; Paige Sparks of Hartshorne, OK; Brayden Sparks of Hartshorne, OK; Sister and Brother in law - Susan and Keith Brewer of Hartshorne, OK; Mother of His Children - Sue McCarroll of Hartshorne, OK; Special Niece Kari Kennedy and Great Nephews Jordon and Jonivan Kennedy Pallbearers will be Steve Gross, John Sirmans, Lemac Morris, Dubby Camp, Dan Sprouse, and James Smart. Honorary Pallbearers will be Duane Beavers, Chris Rudiger, Terrell Dunn, Tom Goodwin, Mike Perry, and Ramon Airington. Services will be held Friday December 3, 2010, at 1:30 pm at Wynnewood First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Roland Barrick and Rev. Kip Heatley. Frank James Remembrances by Dr. Guy Ames and Amy Hodgins. Visitation will be Thursday December 2, 2010, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at DeArman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood, OK. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Wynnewood or the Paoli First United Methodist Churches.
