Ed Harber

Ed Harber, a resident of Tishomingo, formerly of Sulphur, was born October 18, 1922 in Viola, Arkansas to Frank & Roxie (Johnson) Harber. He passed away Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Tishomingo, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years and 29 days. He grew up in the Roff and Lightning Ridge area and went to Vanoss School. He moved to Sulphur, where he was Murray County Commissioner for a number of years. He then moved to Hugo in 1978, where he owned and operated the Harber's Mini Mart in Sawyer, OK until 1996. He then moved to Kingston, and later to Tishoming. His family was the most important thing to him. Ed loved to hunt, fish, play golf and spend time with his family. He was a member of Independent Baptist Church in Milburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Mayme Harber, Son: Eddie Wayne Harber, Sister: Juanita McNeill, Brothers: Authur Harber, Jerry Harber, James Harber, a great grandson: Tanner Kevin Curry, and son-in-law: Dean Ellis. Survived by his his wife: Peggy Harber, of Tishomingo, OK Daughters & son-in-law, Linda White & Milton, of Sulphur, OK Venda Ellis, of Ardmore, OK Son & daughter-in-law: Tommy Harber & Dorothy, of Hugo, OK Step- Daughter; Latova Bryan, of Ada, OK Step-Sons: Dwain Darby, of Ada, OK and Gary Darby, of Ada, OK Brothers: Loyd Harber, of Sulphur, OK Dwight Harber, of Gore, OK Larry Harber, of Tecumseh, OK Sisters: Brenda Blankenship, of Ada, OK Donna Matthews, of Ada, OK Geneva Denson, of Ada, OK Bonnie Cross, of Ponca City, OK 11 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great Great- Grandchildren 2 Step Grandchildren, 4 Step Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ellis, Kevin Ellis, Michael White, Jimmy Harber, Charlie Harber, and Danny Harber. Honorary Bearers:Darric Taylor, Gary Don Darby, Kelly Gasaton, Mark Lewin. Services will be held Saturday November 25, 2017 at 11:00AM at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sulphur officiated by Rev. Earl Blankenship and Rev Robert Green.
