Donna Gayle Jordan

Donna Gayle Jordan, a resident of Paoli, OK, was born on December 1, 1936 in Pauls Valley, OK to Jean (Whitaker) and Woodrow Futrell. She passed away in Pauls Valley, OK on June 16, 2019 at the age of 82 years 6 months and 16 days. Donna grew up and graduated high school in Paoli, graduating Paoli High School in 1955. She then went on to graduate East Central University in Ada, OK with a Bachelor's in Education, followed by completing her Master's in Education from Oklahoma University. She taught most of her career at Jefferson Elementary in Pauls Valley, OK before her retirement. She married William Lee Melton Jordan, Jr. on August 29, 1970 in Gainesville, TX. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Donna was loved and enjoyed by all, known for her thoughtful birthday cards, generous gifts, hospitality, wry sense of humor, and her love for her family. Donna cherished her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a great cook and shared recipes often, especially desserts. Donna had a beautiful soprano voice and played the piano. She loved playing and singing musicals with her kids. She was an avid lover of books. She enjoyed swapping books with her sister. She thoroughly enjoyed beautiful shoes, and was teased often about how many pairs she collected. She loved to travel, and went on many trips with her husband Melton. Donna loved being a teacher and remembered almost all of her former students. She was a blessing to so many people. Her presence and influence will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Melton Jordan, son - Mark DeArman, and a sister - Lynda Steers. She is survived by her daughter - Denise DeArman of Paoli, OK, son - Bill Jordan and wife Tammie of Paoli, OK, 5 grandchildren - Tanner DeArman and wife Dallas, Taylor DeArman, Travis DeArman, Lee Jordan, and Ty Jordan, 2 great grandchildren Abbie and Mark DeArman, and a sister Diane Dulin, nephew James, and a neice Christi. Services will be held on Friday June 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Pauls Valley, OK officiated by David Rodriguez with burial following at Paoli Cemetery.
