Della Oleta Mink

Della Oleta Scott Mink was born January 24, 1923 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Tilla and Louie Emme Scott. Oleta returned to her home, only to be called home by her Lord, on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 after a hospital stay at the Pauls Valley General Hospital. Oleta lived her early life in and around Garvin Co then in 1951 she married Harvey Mink before they moved to Arizona in 1953. She and Harvey made Phoenix Arizona their home until Harvey’s death in 2001, at which time, Oleta returned to Pauls Valley to be closer to her two nephews James Ray (Jim) and Scott Butts. Oleta was a member of the Wynnewood Assembly of God Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of her friends that she had made since returning to Oklahoma. She also enjoyed gatherings and holiday meals with her family and especially enjoyed watching Thunder basketball games. She was a pleasure to talk to and had a wonderful personality. She was quick witted and could hold her own with a certain nephew that would sometimes, as she would put it, “get a little too big for his britches” Oleta was preceded in death by her parents Tilla and Louie Emme Scott, her husband, Harvey Mink, two sisters, Ruby V. Butts and Edeth Mackey, one brother, Preston Scott and one nephew, Jim Butts. She is survived by her nephew, Scott Butts and his wife Inez of Pauls Valley, her nieces LaVera Hensen and her husband Vance of California and Barbara Peck of Kansas. Three great nephews and two great nieces and a host of greater nieces and nephews and friends that will miss her greatly. Services will be held at the Wynnewood Assembly of God on Monday, June 27th at 2:00 with Brothers Ratliff and Quick officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home. Our family would like to extend our profound and deepest appreciation for all of the love and excellent care that the nursing staff of the Pauls Valley General Hospital and The Life Spring Home Health and Hospice staff provided Oleta and our family during her recent illness. A special thanks and love to Virginia Roark, Charlotte Jones and Inez Butts, who not only made it possible for Oleta to safely remain in her home but became a part of our family that she grew to dearly love.
