Colson Lee Powell

Colson Lee Powell was born on September 26th 2022 at 17:09 to his parents Cody Lee Powell and Taylor Richardson. Colson was born at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma. Colson Lee Powell was named to have the same initials as his Dad, and to have the same middle name as his dad, grandpa, great-grandfather, and his uncle. The name Colson was also chosen and favorited by his mom due to it being her favorite rock star’s name also. (Machine Gun Kelly). Colson lived a very short life but made the most out of what he was given. Almost every day his mom’s cravings were for Chinese food and snow cones, and the occasional orange sherbet freeze with pickles added in it from Braums. He definitely would have had an exquisite taste for food. Colson was the most active and seemed to be the most excited at night, especially when he would hear his daddy’s voice or when his dad was talking directly to him, or when he would hear his big sister Ivey playing and being loud. Colson also seemed to really enjoy when his mom would take long baths he would also move all around as if he just wanted to take off swimming. Colson was his parent’s miracle baby, when they had first found out about the pregnancy both of them felt nothing but joy and happiness even if it seemed to be early timing both of them knew they wanted to have their family grow and they could not have been more excited. At the first Doctors appointment, Colson’s parents were informed that they were actually going to be expecting twins, this was a huge shock to his parents but they were both even more excited for this new adventure. A few weeks later with another doctor’s appointment Colson’s parents found out that his twin no longer had a heartbeat and now it would just be a single pregnancy. Colson’s parents were upset but both were just relived to have one baby who was still healthy and growing. As more months came and went at each checkup and ultrasound, his parents were always told how stubborn this baby was going to be and how much of a stinker he already was. He never felt the need to corporate or stay still. It also seemed like Colson was going to be a lot taller than his parents are, his growth was always above the 95th percentile and he always measured weeks ahead of what he was. Colson made life so fun and exciting for the few short months of his known existence for his family. The day that his parents found out that they were having a boy was one of the happiest days of both of their life’s, they had both prayed and hoped for a little boy to add to the family. Colson was defiantly the apple to his dad’s eye, every time his parents were in the store his mom would have to stop his dad from buying every Baby Yoda, Marvel or Disney shirt that there was. His mom on the other hand would try to buy him every dinosaur printed item that there was. Colson’s sister Ivey would also pick out items for Colson that she just really wanted for herself and had no intentions on actually sharing them with Colson. Toward the end of the pregnancy, Colson’s parents knew there was going to possible be health issues due to complications that kept arising in the pregnancy, His parents were told that was he was going to be coming earlier than expected and that they would be spending some time in the NICU. Colson’s parents were just happy to have a fighting chance and could not wait to meet their baby even if it was earlier than expected. This excitement was short lived the day his parents went back in for the checkup and the admission date for the NICU only to find out that Colson’s little heart was no longer beating. These words shattered both of his parents but there nothing else that could be done at this point. Colson was stillborn later on this day. Colson was Stillborn at 5:09pm on September 26th. Colson was born with the biggest blue eyes, and the sweetest little face. He looked just like his daddy. Colson had the cutest little hands and feet that were identical to his big sisters. Colson was absolutely perfect in every single way and was everything that his mom and dad had prayed for. Colson was loved beyond measures and will always be loved and thought about no matter what or no matter how much time passes. Colson is survived by his parents- his Father Cody Lee Powell, and his Mother Taylor Brianna Richardson His older sister Iveylynn Ray Richardson His grandparents- Michael (Lee) and Michelle Powell, Lacy Harper, James and Elizabeth Richardson. His aunts and his uncles- Jamie Smith, Sharon & Cord Wostal, Tara Richardson, Trace Harper, and Lane Richardson His great grandparents- John Powell, Lynn Bebout, Mona Ivey, and Frank Richardson His great uncles and aunts- Kenneth Richardson, Bobby Hedrick, Shannon & Doug George, Travis Crawford, Jimmy & Michelle Lampkin, Scott & Kim Powell, Lori Morris His cousins- Chelsi, Michael, Jocelyn, and Everett Colson is also survived by many 2nd and 3rd cousins and many others who love him dearly. Colson was our sweet angel and our miracle baby. There will not be a day that goes by that we do not miss him. We love you forever Colson.
