Charles Ray May

Charles Ray May passed away on August 30, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on August 26, 1963, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Tommy Sylvester and Vinita Faye (Covington) May. At a young age, his family moved to Tishomingo, where he attended school and graduated from Tishomingo High School. He continued his education at Murray State College for one year. In October of 1996, Charles married Pat Borba in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure. As a child, Charles loved going to Pennington Creek with his brother Todd, exploring the woods, hunting, and simply enjoying the freedom of being a kid. These passions followed him into adulthood, where he remained an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed hunting arrowheads, and loved riding four-wheelers. Charles had a fulfilling career at Michelin, where he worked for 31 years, building tires and serving as a stock prep before retiring. He was also known for his exceptional cooking, especially his soup, cornbread, and gravy. He had a special fondness for crab legs and grilling. Above all, Charles cherished raising his children and grandchildren, teaching them the values of honesty, authenticity, and the importance of spending time together and loving one another. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Tom May and Todd May, and his grandparents, Grace and Delno Covington, and Mary and Carmen May. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his wife, Pat May; sons, Charlie May, Dayn May, Scotty Maxey, and Jaden Payne; daughters, Kasey Burkhalter and husband Gary, Destiny Holley and husband Pryce, Libby May, and Lindsey Cram; grandchildren, Lander Burkhalter, Mason Burkhalter, and Kendyl Cram; sister in law, Cindy May; sister, Annabelle Wedding and husband Mark; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024, at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Russett Cemetery in Russett, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Mace Wedding, Charlie May, Dayn May, Scotty Maxey, Keegan May, and Toby May. Arrangements were made under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
