Charles Ray Allen Jr.

Charles Ray Allen Jr., 69 years of age, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was known as Charlie Ray to his friends, Papa to his grandkids and as Chop by his mother. Charlie was an only child, born December 23, 1953, at the Fort Mead military base in Baltimore, Maryland to Delois Coffman Allen Fry of Ravia, Oklahoma and Charles Ray Allen Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky. Charlie spent his first few years of life in Germany, completed most of his schooling in Dallas, Texas and finished high school in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. He joined the military after high school and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Charlie and Lynne Denise French Allen just celebrated 45 years of marriage, they married in Dallas, Texas on June 1,1978 and made their home in Ravia, Oklahoma. They had two children, Chaz who is a silly goose and Aszra, the favorite child. Charlie will be remembered as loving and caring son, husband, father and papa by his wife, children, grandchildren, and mother. He had a big heart and was always ready to lend a hand. He loved hot-rods, giant speakers, and would make the entire neighborhood block shake and rattle during the 90’s with his fast cars and loud speakers. He and Denise enjoyed putting on big fourth of July celebrations with tons of food, fireworks and music for their entire neighborhood to celebrate together. Charlie was a solid mechanic and carpenter, and would lend a hand to all friends and family. Everything he did was big and bold and he will be missed terribly. Charles Ray Allen leaves behind his beloved wife Lynne Denise Allen of Ravia, Oklahoma, son Chaz Allen and his wife Jessica Allen of McMinnville, Tennessee, daughter Aszra Allen-Wingfield and husband Kevin Wingfield of Durant, Oklahoma, granddaughters Deryn Allen and Ryann Allen of McMinnville, Tennessee, granddaughter Zara Wingfield, grandson Zeppelin Wingfield, and granddaughter Zella Wingfield of Durant, Oklahoma, his mother Delois Coffman Allen Fry of Ravia, Oklahoma, step-sister Sharon Faulkner and husband Johnny Faulkner of Dallas, Texas, step-sister Linda Hartley of Ada, Oklahoma and his closest family friend/ honorary brother Billy Grizzle and wife Julia Grizzle of Laguna Park, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding Charles in death is his father Charles Ray Allen Sr., stepfather Leonard Lee Fry, and step-brother Donald Fry. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Ravia Cemetery in Ravia, Oklahoma. Officiating is Ernest Coffman. Pallbearers are Kenneth Akins, Dewayne Akins, Billy Grizzle, Aaron Rounsaville, Daniel West, Sam West. Family hour will be held at Clark Funeral Home Friday, August 11, 2023 from 6-8pm.
