Bobby Dean Dodd

Bobby Dean Dodd, 87, was born on September 17, 1933 in Emet, Oklahoma to Parlin Otis and Delia Mae (Crowson) Dodd. Bobby passed from this life on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a teacher, coach, husband, father, neighbor and friend. Bobby was always there for everyone; family, neighbors, colleagues, friends and strangers; but most importantly, the students' lives he touched and impacted throughout his teaching career. Bobby was hard working and compassionate towards everyone and loved sports. He taught his children many things but they would tell you that the most important thing he taught them is that life isn’t about ME, but about making a better place for everyone that you touch. He was a man with impeachable moral character, integrity, and honesty. Bobby instilled in the lives of his children their love for outdoors, fishing, hunting, and his love for sports. Nobody can be perfect, but dad was as close to being the most perfect husband, dad, grandfather, teacher, coach, mentor, and role model that we have known. His love was unconditional and this is something we and all who knew him will cherish and take with us forever. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who he touched as he walked through this life. We will all miss him immensely and love him always. Bobby is preceded in death by his wife, LaNeta Dodd; grandson, Tyler; and sister, Quetha Ford. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his four sons, Deuane Dodd and wife Shelli of Tishomingo, Brad Dodd and wife Patty of Madill, Chris Dodd of Milburn, David Dodd and wife Laura of Germany; brother, Ray Keith Dodd and wife Carolyn of Mill Creek, sister-in-law, LaWanda Smith of Durant, brother-in-law, Elmer Ford of Hobbs, New Mexico; 9 grandchildren, Doug, Cassidy, Aaron, Zach, BreAnn, Payton, Raygan, Matt and Ryan; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside services to honor and celebrate Bobby's life will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn. Family hour will be Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Condon Grove Cemetery Association, P.O. BOX 115, Tishomingo, Oklahoma 73460.
