Barbara Ann Fleming was born to Clyde and Mae Fleming on December 26, 1959 in Casa Grande, Arizona. She was the youngest girl of seven children in the Fleming family. Later on, the family moved back to Oklahoma and settled in Russett. Barbara Ann attended Russett school where she made many friends very easily with her big, bright and kind smile. As Barbara Ann did have a happy go lucky approach to life. She also had a passion for fashion, always wearing bright colors and sporting her own individual style. Barbara Ann loved makeup and was always dressed to impress. “She always looked beautiful like a doll,” recalls fondly her sister Wanda. Later Barbara Ann married John Sherwood. The couple settled in Tishomingo and raised their family there. She loved family reunions, spending time with her children, traveling, driving around just to cruise and listen to some of her favorite bands; including Bon Jovi, Alabama, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Def Leppard just to name a few. However, Barbara Ann would give any song a chance as long as she could play it loud. When I, Summer, Barbara’s niece by way of being her older sister Wanda’s daughter spoke with family and friends about their memories will Barbara Ann I heard a lot about her beauty, her love for family, her fashion forward sense of style and her always being true to herself. I saw the love her family and friends have for her still. That is how I know she will be alive and well in our hearts forever as we will time and time again tell the many stories of such a wonderful, beautiful, strong and full of life woman. Play it loud in Heaven Barbara Ann, we love you very much. Barbara Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mae Fleming; husband, John Sherwood of Tishomingo; brothers, Rex Allen Fleming of Ravia and Charles Lee Fleming of Ravia; two sisters, Wanda Faye Smith and Lucretia Fleming both of Richmond, California. Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her children, Johnathan Larkin Sherwood, Gayla Clements and Elizabeth Sherwood; brothers, William D. Fleming and Billy Joe Fleming; sisters, Wanda J. Rhodes and Nadine Sherwood and a host of other family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2022 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo.
