Alma Nina Tiffin

Alma Nina Tiffin December 12, 1921-February 20, 2018 Services for Alma Nina Tiffin of Vanoss will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 26, at the Lightning Ridge Baptist Church, with Brett Wiseman officiating. Pall Bearers will be her great-grandsons;Aaron Stark, Dillon Bolin, Andrew Bolin, Wyatt Keel, Jayce Tiffin, Aaron Fox, and Eric Holloway. Interment will follow in Lightning Ridge Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with Pickard Funeral Home of Stratford. Nina went to her Heavenly home to be with Jesus on February 20, 2018, from her home on Earth at Vanoss. Nina was born December 12, 1921, in Yantis, Texas, to Rachel Dora Crawford Boyd and William Joseph Boyd. The family later moved to the Hart, Oklahoma area, where Nina attended school. She married Remmel B. Tiffin on December 12, 1936, on her fifteenth birthday. Remmel and Nina moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 1941, where they both worked for North American Aviation, Inc., until 1945. Nina was one of the original “Rosie the Riveters “of World War II. They moved to Hagerstown, Md., in 1945, but “It was cold, we couldn’t find a decent place to live, and the pay wasn’t as good as it was at North American.” So they packed up and moved back to Oklahoma where Nina worked alongside her husband in operating a ranch and dairy farm until retirement. Nina loved gardening, sewing, cooking and making quilts for her grandchildren. Her pecan pies never failed to win blue ribbons at the county fair. She was a member of the Vanoss Home and Community Education Club for more than fifty years. She was a member of the Lightning Ridge Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir as long as she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Rachel Boyd; her husband Remmel; and three brothers, Joe Bailey Boyd, William Kenneth Boyd, and Billy Joe Boyd, and one great-great grandson Kaden Byrd. She is survived by three sisters, Vernice Mann of Terrell, TX; Mildred Kent of Tucson, AZ; and Floy Harris of Vaca Ville, CA; one daughter, Patricia Peay of Ada; and one son, Michael Tiffin and wife Shari of Vanoss; grandchildren Trina Stark and husband David, Shannon Hooks, Kari Eldred, Dusty Bolin, Lisa Munday and husband Rex, Marteen Silas and husband Sam, Quinten Tiffin, and Eric Osborn, all of the Ada area; great-grandchildren: Aaron Stark of Oklahoma City, Rachel Wiseman and husband Brett of Coppell, TX, Sarah Reasoner and husband Micah of Domodedovo, Russia, Wyatt Keel of Ada, Dillon Bolin and Andrew Bolin of Durant, Cassie Holloway and husband Eric of Ada, Danielle Fox and husband Aaron of Roff, Caleb Byrd of Tahlequah, Levi Byrd of Ada, Jayce Tiffin of Ardmore, Zach Silas, Josh Silas, Karma Tiffin, all of Ada, Sutton Osborn of Pauls Valley, and twelve great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm and grace and undying love and caring for them. Words cannot express how greatly she will be missed. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but includes the loving staff of Victory Hospice of Davis.
