Sue Coder

Sue Coder, a resident of Wynnewood, OK, was born on May 30, 1936 in Wynnewood to Rena Mae (Bearden) Lail and Richard Farris Lail. She passed away at Durant, OK on December 25, 2020 at the age of 84. Sue married Roy Coder on July 17, 1954 in Ardmore, OK and they spent the rest of her life together. Sue had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood. Mom was an avid artist whether she was painting china plates with flowers, watercolors, or oil paintings of places she and dad visited. We always told her she had a great talent, but she would tell us no one would ever buy them. But we are sure Mom could have made it as an artist! She loved to quilt and sew; Mom made many beautiful quilts and clothes over the years. Mom also loved flowers whether they were house plants, cut flowers or outdoor flowers. She was always anxious to show them to you when they were blooming. She always thought she had a BROWN THUMB. No way! Cooking was also a talent she had, Mom kept Dad hooked up with sweets for over 66 years and anyone that showed up fed and happy! She enjoyed going for a drive around the countryside and visiting old places they had been. We always laughed and had a good time seeing all those sites and reminiscing about days gone by. Mom learned to be a Fisherwoman by marrying a guy that liked to fish and hunt, so she learned how to fish with him. Traveling to creeks, lakes, or the gulf, for just plain old good times they always had. Taking their RV to the gulf was a highlight in the winter months so they could escape the Oklahoma cold! Lastly her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Mom was crazy about each one of us, it was a joy for her every time we came to the house. From puzzles, coloring in color books (Artist in her) or just playing dolls or trucks, she was always willing to do anything with us. Mom loved us all the same! Surely we will miss every aspect of being with her (Wife, Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother). She was our Rock and our Memories of her will last until we see her again! She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers - W.D. Lail and Bill Lail, and 2 sisters - Lucille Doverspike and Jean Sewell. She is survived by her husband Roy of their home in Wynnewood, daughter - Ginger Coder of Pauls Valley, 2 sons - Chris Coder and wife Debra of Durant, Randal Coder of Norman, 3 grandchildren - Dustin Coder, Melanie Clark, Errin Coder, 8 great grandchildren - Cierra, Breanna, Eli, Rylan, Christina, Kimberly, Kaylee, Samantha, and Landen. Private family services will be held on Tuesday December 29, 2020. Visitation will be open to public on Monday December 28, 2020 from 4 to 7 PM.
