Kenneth M. Lowe December 6, 1935 – February 19, 2024 Kenneth M. Lowe, 88, of Bromide, Okla., passed away on February 19, 2024, in Atoka, Okla. He was born on December 6, 1935, to Harden Louis Lowe and Gillie Mae Hammons in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He married his wife, Joyce Lowe, on July 5, 1956, and together they had three children. Kenneth was a welder and worked for the pipeline for 24 years before retiring in 1980. He was a 65-year member of the Pipeliners Union 798. His time in the pipeline allowed him to travel all over the country to 28 states, even working in Alaska on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found most days in his yard tinkering, witling wood or in his garden. His garden tomatoes and onions were a staple during almost every family meal. Kenneth was an avid reader and loved Westerns. He read every Louis Lamar book multiple times. Gunsmoke was his favorite Western show, but the Western Channel was on the TV if he wasn’t watching the Texas Rangers play. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Alton Lowe and Emit Lowe, special sister Dorothy King and his beloved dog, Little Girl. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce; children Kenny Lowe of Bromide, Darla Thompson and husband Shorty of Stonewall, Okla. and Sheila Germany and husband John of Coleman, Okla.; grandchildren Jennifer Hunt and husband Chad of Roff, Okla., T.C. Lowe of Lindsay, Okla., John Germany II and wife Hayley of Latta, Okla., Jake Thompson and wife Kaycee of Latta, Stephanie Lowe of Lindsay, and Kendra Wall and husband Judson of Sherman, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Kenneth Lowe will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Those serving as pallbearers are Jake Thompson, John Germany II, T.C. Lowe, Judson Wall, Andy Kirkpatrick, Colton Hunt, Carson Hunt, Memphis Smith, Brock Thompson and Rider Lowe. Honorary Pallbearers are Willie Kirkpatrick, Vernon Morris, Shorty Thompson and John Germany.
