Jeri Anderson

Jeraldine “Jeri” Anderson, age 89, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Jeri was born on August 27, 1935, in the Bullard Chapel community to NR Bynum and Hattie Brownlee Bynum. She grew up in the Tishomingo area, attending Prairie View and Tishomingo schools. Jeri married the love of her life, Bobby Joe Anderson, on November 22, 1959, in Durant, Oklahoma, and together they raised a loving family. As a young woman, Jeri worked at Colvert Dairy in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In 1960, Jeri and Bob moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico, where she worked as a bank teller until 1966. The family then moved back to Tishomingo, where they built a home on land purchased during their time in Los Alamos. Jeri began working at First State Bank (now Landmark Bank) in 1971 as a Financial Control Officer and spent many years in various banking positions, retiring after a long and successful career. Jeri had an unmatched flair for fashion and always ensured her outfits, shoes, and jewelry were perfectly coordinated, alongside her impeccably styled hair, manicured and painted nails. After retirement, she and Bob sold their farm and bought a home in town, where she enjoyed her favorite pastimes: cooking and growing her favorite flowers. Every evening, Jeri’s day wasn’t complete without watching Jeopardy and working on a crossword puzzle. She loved her dogs and took delight in spoiling them especially her latest companion Star, who held a special place in her heart. Jeri is survived by her children, David Anderson (Patricia), Theresa Caudle (Robert), and Bobbie LaFevers (Pat); grandchildren, Ami Hartsfield (Billy), Chad McGlocklin (Daisy), Kyle LaFevers (Amanda), Ken LaFevers (Chelsey), Kirk LaFevers (Courtney), Kayla Jo Wood, and Neely Wood; and great-grandchildren, Madisin, McKinzi, Bode, and Adalie Hartsfield, Aden McGlocklin, Keegan, Kason, Kori, Kenedy, Katelyn, and Kara LaFevers. She is also survived by her twin sister, Christine Sexton. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, NR Bynum and Hattie Brownlee Bynum; her husband, Bobby Joe Anderson; her sons, Billy Wayne Covington and Joe Kevin Anderson; her brother, Marvin Bynum; and her sister, Alice Bynum. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo, with interment following at Tishomingo Cemetery. A family hour will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Those serving as pallbearers will be Kyle LaFevers, Ken LaFevers, Kirk LaFevers, Kelley Isenberg, Billy Bob Hartsfield, and Jackie Bynum.
