Aubrey Gene Perkins Jr.

Aubrey Gene Perkins, Jr. referred to as Little Gene was called home March 23rd 2021. After four years of battling Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease, Gene, at the age of 59, peacefully arrived at Heavens Gates in the comfort of his own home in Milburn, Oklahoma. Gene was born on January 25, 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas to Aubrey Gene Perkins, Sr. and Mickie Perkins. He was a graduate from Castleberry High School and went on to attend Sam Houston State University where he achieved a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. Gene’s passion, love and dedication for reforming and progressing the criminal justice system, especially within the juvenile population, was reflected by numerous awards presented out of Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana. His working career consisted of being the Director of Juvenile Services in Tyler and Henderson, Texas; Ranch Director of Pine Mountain Ranch and Azelway Children Services in Tyler; Counselor and Welfare Officer at Alsada Air Force Base in Iraq; Director at Jetson Center for Youth in Baker, Louisiana; Case Manager Supervisor at John Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; Exploring multiple countries and across the United States in pursuit of his treasured trophies. Gene is preceded in death by his brother, Shane in 2005; father, Big Gene in 2017; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Selma Perkins and maternal grandmother, Craig McDonald. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his Mother, Mickie Perkins; children, Danielle Renae Holsomback and husband Clint; Kyle Raymond Perkins and wife Pia; Audrey Jene Crews and husband McCall and her mother, Lorrie Perkins; niece, Shana Jean Alexander and husband Michael; grandchildren, Case & Curt Holsomback, Kian & Liam Perkins and Jace Crews; great nieces, Harley & Cheyenne Alexander; numerous other friends and family who were dear to him throughout his life including Tina Walker, Fausto Hernandez, Tillo Lopez and Kenley Harner. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma with Alvi (Skippy) Perkins and Pastor Jeremy Parham to officiate. Interment to follow at Bold Springs Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma. Those serving as pallbearers will be Tillo Lopez, Fausto Hernandez, Darrell Hedges, Jadin Hedges, Michael Alexander, Kenley Harner; Honorary pallbearer, Kyle Perkins. A visitation will be held at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home from 12:00 – 5:00 PM on Friday, March 26. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bold Springs Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma. The family would to especially thank the girls at Victory Home Health and Hospice for the care they gave Gene during his final days.
