Our Story

Learn our story, from the beginning and into the future.

Ever since we opened our doors we have approached life (and death) differently. While some just see the end of a loved one’s life as a time for grief and mourning, we prefer to think of it as a time for reflection, appreciation and even celebration. This is evident in everything we do, from the way we conduct our services to the amenities we choose to offer. We are not a burial ground. We are a close knit community dedicated to honoring, sharing and preserving the amazing and inspirational stories that are life.

Dearman's Clagg Funeral Home

Dearman's Clagg Funeral Home

In November of 1924, A.G. Dunn began serving the Sulphur community establishing a tradition of honesty and integrity that would continue to be serving more than 75 years later. Inspired by their father's strong work ethics and desire to help others, the family business was continued by his children Orien Bates and Amos Dunn. In July of 1970 the Clagg family moved to Sulphur where Major Clagg worked as the funeral home manager until March of 1976, when he and his wife, Sondra, purchased the funeral home. In February of 1987 Bill Crawford became a part of the management of the funeral home.

Through this time, these families have strived to continue a long standing tradition of family-minded service. With that in mind, in 2006, Joe DeArman purchased Clagg Funeral Home, retaining Bill Crawford as well as the services of both Major and Sondra Clagg, to ensure that the same tradition of exceeding expectations continues.

Clagg Funeral Home pledges to continue this tradition and serve the community with quality care and respect.

Dearman's Wynnewood Funeral Home

Dearman's Wynnewood Funeral Home

DeArman's Wynnewood Funeral Home was opened in the early 1900's by Clarence Coonrod. The funeral home was operated for many years by the Coonrod family as Wynnewood Funeral Home until its sale to Woodrow Baker some years later. Mr. Baker and his family operated the funeral home until 1990 when the DeArman family purchased the funeral home. Leroy DeArman owned and operated the funeral home until his death in January of 1995. For the next 12 years, Leroy's wife Sue DeArman carried on the family ownership of DeArman's Wynnewood Funeral Home. In June of 2007, Mrs. DeArman sold the funeral home to Leroy's son, Joe DeArman, allowing the funeral home to remain in family ownership.

As the Coonrod, Baker, and DeArman families have always done, we pledge to continue quality family service to all of Wynnewood and surrounding communities.
